3 Steps to Decide on a Business Name and Market Research

It is easy to start a business. You must have good capital to start, of course. Then you need a good business plan. Then you need a location. Then you must advertise, do marketing and get the word out to people who will want what you are offering.

Steps to Get Started: Choose a business structure. Choose a name and location for your new company. Sign a business plan (or obtain a legal version of it). Make sure you have registered your business with your state and make sure that you have filed all the appropriate tax forms.

Make sure that you have all the appropriate permits and licenses to open your business structure. Each state has its own set of business structures and licensing requirements. Check with your county and city to make sure that you have all the proper licenses to run your business. If you are applying for general licenses such as sales and use of a motor vehicle, etc., check to see if you have all the necessary permits. Your county and city should also be able to provide you with further information about obtaining your required licenses and permits.

The next step to help you decide on a business structure and start a business idea is market research. The first thing you need to do is determine how much money you have available to invest. Do some market research online by searching “start a business” or “business ideas.” Look at the forums and websites related to your business idea. Collect information that will allow you to make an informed decision on what type of business would be best for you.

You can go to a local library and look up books on business types or you can go to the library and search the internet for information. Another good method of doing some research would be to contact a few manufacturers of the product or service you are thinking of selling. Find out what they are charging for a product and make sure that you have a price that will not only capture your customers’ attention, but will also allow you to make money in your new market. The next step would be to develop a market plan.

The third step would be to get feedback from your customers. For example, if you sell window cleaning products, get feedback from neighbors and businesses in your area that could be using these products. They may be using these products but have not gotten any feedback from other businesses.
