The Lifestyle Definition is all about being yourself. What are your values, beliefs, and actions? When you live by a lifestyle definition, it shows you who you are, and it provides you with the strength to resist peer pressure, and look for your true path. Living this lifestyle doesn’t mean that you have to change all of your behavior, but it does mean that you need to define what that behavior is. By creating a description of who you are on paper, you can begin to challenge the assumptions we have about ourselves.
Many times we believe that if something isn’t working in our lives, then we must change it. But changing a lifestyle or your definition of who you are won’t usually change things in quite the way you want them to. For instance, if you want to lose weight, most people would immediately try to change their diet, exercise more, and eat healthier. But they fail to see that these changes aren’t permanent, they’re usually temporary.
So how do you make a lifestyle change that will last long term? You start by identifying what things you want to change about yourself, and start linking them to how you feel as a person. Are you insecure because of weight issues, or do you feel insecure because you’re lazy? What things do you want to change about your body? These are questions you need to answer for yourself so you can begin living a healthier lifestyle.
Next, write down the reasons why you believe these things are wrong, and choose how you will address those problems. I’m going to give you some great advice that will really get your juices flowing, but first let’s talk about the lifestyle definition I just gave you. Your lifestyle definition is who you are on paper. It’s all about taking baby steps towards your goal.
The biggest problem with this approach is that people tend to get stuck in a rut. They get so comfortable with their habits and lifestyle that they sometimes forget about the big picture. When you live in a rut you tend to do things the same way year after year. Eventually, it becomes a habit, and your routine starts to get you down. You have to take action and don’t worry about making changes until you see results. That way you know it’s working.
What is your lifestyle definition today? What would you change about your life if you knew it could be permanent? Take a look at your life, where do you need to improve? Start by asking yourself what it is that you want to accomplish in life, what’s holding you back from reaching your goals? Once you have an answer to that question you can work towards getting there.
