A sedentary lifestyle is basically one which entails little or no physical activity, wherein most of your day is spent lying down, sitting and expending little energy. Sedentary lifestyle has its dangers as well as benefits. In fact, studies have shown that this type of lifestyle leads to a number of problems including obesity, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, osteoporosis, stroke and even certain types of cancers. If you want to reduce your risks of getting any of these diseases, then it is a wise idea to add some physical activity to your daily life.

When we talk about sedentary lifestyle, the first thing that comes to mind is not exercising. But did you know that exercise can help improve your mental health as well as physical health? Studies have shown that sedentary people spend less time exercising and spend more time thinking. This makes them at a higher risk of depression, anxiety, and other mental illnesses such as bipolar disorder and anxiety attacks. If you are sedentary, then the best way for you to remedy this is to incorporate regular exercise into your daily schedule.
