A new film has just come out – “Thefreaky Movie”. The freaky movie is based on the true story of a man who was working as a translator for the CIA in the early 1970’s. The movie takes the reader on an expedition to CIA headquarters, where it is revealed that the Agency used people as guinea pigs in their blood experiments. I always love a good spy movie, and this one is no exception.

OK, so the title already gives a little bit of what this movie is about. But let’s get into it. I’m a big fan of movies like this that take the time to examine the psychological aspects of the human character. If you look at the movie with that point in mind, then you should be able to appreciate what it’s all about. And I have a hard time believing that this movie isn’t going to be popular amongst the young and old alike. Just the imagery alone is enough to make this movie worth the time of day…

As I said, this movie is based on the true story of a man named Richard Souviron. Richard was working as a translator for the CIA when he was called away from work one evening to translate a report that had been written by an Agency agent in Russia. While there were no bodyguards present, Richard’s suspicions that they may have been murdered by Russian security forces set in motion a chain of events that would change the course of his life forever. With a new lead in hand, Richard sets out on a wild goose chase to find the killers and deliver the report to the Director of the CIA. I guess if you’ve seen “Fearless” you know what happens in this movie.

If you’ve never seen this movie, or haven’t given it a try, trust me when I say that you’re missing out. It is very funny and has a great sense of humor. But most of all, it is a great time travel tale. One would think that time travel would be a dumb idea… but hey, this is “The Day the Earth Stood Still” and we can do whatever we like. Besides, the fact that all of the main characters are from the present day makes this movie even more fun to watch. The acting is superb and the whole movie is just plain weird…

One of my favorite scenes in “The Day the Earth Stood Still” is where Richard’s wife has just given birth to their first child and is sitting in the hospital receiving all sorts of weird visitors. One of them has been invited into the room by her husband and is dressed in an apron and white hat. Another guy is dressed in a doctor’s uniform. He just wants to know what the big deal is about.

So, you should go see “The Day the Earth Stood Still” if you haven’t already. I know that at the rate it’s going, it will hit the theaters in about four days tops and go on running for three months! Who knows how many more films this film will reach cult status for. I’ll have to wait and see.
