Tips For Using the Movie Theater in Your Home

It is quite impossible to expect people to walk into a movie theater without ever having been there before. They may have seen the theater multiple times, but if they have not been blessed with an extraordinary vision or a love of film that compels them to venture out of their living rooms on a semi-regular basis, they will almost never go. People do come for the thrill of the experience and may end up coming back time again to see a movie they previously failed to see. In order to make your movie theater a truly unforgettable experience, you must keep this fact in mind: you cannot expect to hold a person’s attention for more than two or three minutes at a time. Ultimately, the key to success is in your ability to hold people’s attention span.

To achieve this goal, you must make sure that you create a setting that inspires confidence and offers something of interest to the audience. Ultimately, the most effective way to distract an audience in a movie theater lies in how effectively you distract them while performing on-stage. There are several techniques you can use to distract your audience while you are on-stage.

For instance, if you are doing a scene from a movie that you are particularly proud of, it may be necessary to hide the fact that you are using the scene as a means to create a reaction. If the movie you are in has long, dramatic monologues, you may want to make the monologue part of the movie theater experience. You could do a quick edit of the monologue where you can insert a fast-break between the two parts. In fact, some movie theaters actually have digital video recorders on the stage so that the director can record any special effects he wants to use while he is on-screen. This makes it possible for you to add special effects later on.

The second way to distract people while they are waiting in line to purchase tickets is to offer free food or beverages to encourage them to go ahead and buy. Of course, this doesn’t always work out because people who are waiting in line for tickets are often hungry and thirsty. You may have to experiment with the size of the food or drinks offered in order to make it interesting enough for them to remember you. However, it is an inexpensive way to create buzz among movie theatergoers.

You may also want to try a little bit of pranks. One of the funniest scenes from a movie theater advertisement I’ve ever seen was one in which the character was sitting in front of a blank poster and the words “Spoil me little girl” were written across it in block lettering. The person next to him didn’t want to read the words, but instead, simply wanted to copy the dialogue. He put the poster over his head and then repeated the dialogue he saw on the screen. Of course, everyone else in the theater laughed so hard that they burst into laughter as well!

In the end, a movie theater can be an exciting place to visit and can really make a night of it for you and your friends. However, there are plenty of other ways to spice things up at home. Try one of these ideas or come up with your own. The more creative you are, the more people will come back to see you again. In fact, after they have seen it a few times, they may become your regular visitors.
